How to use constants
Constants are values which are repeating across all tickets and values which can be changed inside the ticket. Constants can be set either global or project-specific.
To add or to edit constants proceed as follows:
- Click on the hamburger menu.
- Click on ‘ADMIN’.
- Click on ‘SETTINGS’.
- Click on ‘CONSTANTS’.
From there you have the following possibilities:
- Add / edit a category.
- OR Add / edit a constant.
How to add a category
- Name of the category. This field contains the entry that is displayed later as a category.
- Description of the constant category. You can describe what your category is good for in this field.
- Enumeration. This field is important for the Backend-Team for allocation purposes. Enumeration fields need to be filled in Capital letters and no spaces in between.
- Cancel button. Cancels the creation of a new category.
- Save button. Saves the new category.
How to edit a category
Click either left in the list to open the category editor or the pencil on the item in the list to make edits.
How to add a constant
Select either the category you just created or one from the list to add new constants. After clicking the pencil button or an item in the list itself, you should see the possibility to add new constants, which should look like this:
- Show all toggle. When toggled on, all constants show up (Value 0 and Value 1 and Value 2 and Value 3), when toggled off, only specific constants show up (Value 0).
- Add a new constant button.
When you click the ‘Add a new constant’ button the form of the constant creation will open:
- Display Text: Text that is actually displayed in the category you set up.
- Description: Description Text for the constant can be inserted in this field.
- Enumeration: This field is important for the Backend-Team for allocation purposes. Enumeration fields need to be filled in Capital letters and no spaces in between.
- Value field: With a value in here you can decide if a banner in the Ticket Info appears (Acknowledge and Resolve Banners).
Value 0 means no banner.
Value 1 means ‘Acknowledge’ banner.
Value 2 means ‘Acknowledge’ + ‘Resolve’ banner.
Value 3 means ‘Resolve’ banner. - Active toggle: Decide whether your constant should be active in Gepard or not.
- Cancel: Cancels the current constants form.
- Save: Saves the current constant.
